108 is India's government ambulance helpline. LocalBro is not an emergency service and does not replace 108.

What the SOS feature does

LocalBro's Emergency SOS is a best-effort community alerting feature. When you tap SOS:

The app opens India's government emergency line 108 in one tap — this is always shown first.
The app also broadcasts an alert to nearby volunteer drivers who have opted in to receive such alerts.

What the SOS feature is NOT

It is not an emergency service.
It does not dispatch ambulances.
It does not employ or certify the volunteer drivers.
We cannot guarantee that any driver will respond, when they will respond, or that they are qualified for any specific kind of help.

About the volunteer drivers

The drivers in our responder pool are private community volunteers. They are not certified emergency responders. They opted in at provider onboarding with a separate, explicit consent. They receive a locked flat rate that cannot change during an active SOS (no surge pricing). They are not obligated to respond.

108 is the government ambulance line.

We also alert nearby drivers as a backup. We cannot guarantee that a driver will come.
